Zappos Adaptive is making online shopping more inclusive for customers of all abilities with its new Single and Different Size Shoes Test. A first in the digital retail space, the program allows shoppers to buy a single shoe or shoes of mixed sizes for everyone from toddlers to adults. The curated footwear collection includes sneakers and slip-ons in a full range of sizes and widths from brands like Nike, Converse, and New Balance, with plans to expand brand partnerships in the future.

Dana Zumbo, Zappos Adaptive’s business development manager, provided a bit of background on the program in a press release announcing its debut. “The Single and Different Size Shoes Test Program is very close to our hearts โ€“ we wanted our community to know that we heard them, and continue to listen and innovate based on their needs and wants,” she said. The online retailer partnered with comedian and para-athlete Josh Sundquist to announce the launch, and he echoed similar sentiments. “As an amputee, I’ve never been able to buy a single shoe before, so this is a game-changing moment for amputees and people with disabilities,” he explained.

An extension of Zappos.com, Zappos Adaptive offers other functional products that make getting dressed easier for everyone, such as slip-on shoes for people of all ages, sensory-friendly clothing, and items specifically designed for those seated in a wheelchair.
