Recently, I told a friend about a new purchase I’d made in the summer sales. It was of a midi skirt, that featured pleats and a unique paisley print, and to be honest I was pretty excited about how much of a bargain it was. “Of course you bought another midi skirt,” my friend said with an eye-roll. “They’re basically your summer uniform.”

I’d never thought about this before, but I guess she was right. A printed midi and t-shirt is the outfit combination I wear on repeat, summer after summer. I’m not sure whether it is due to their ease, their comfort, or the fact that you can look put together while hardly trying, but midi skirts are a key element in my summer wardrobe.
