Daily Practices To Cultivate An Abundance Mindset

What’s your relationship to abundance? Before you answer, let’s get one thing straight — abundance isn’t (just) about money. Sure, a rich financial life is part of the picture, but true abundance is a mindset that permeates all parts of life. It’s stepping into bountiful wellness, cultivating a big, juicy sense of self and owning a robust attitude of self-worth.

According to LA-based sound healer, reiki master, yoga and meditation teacher Susy Markoe Schieffelin, it’s not until this inner-feeling of abundance is flowing, that that material abundance (and sure, maybe the cash-o-la) will follow suit. Susy is sharing seven simple tools to help activate an abundance mindset to start calling in the richness of life we all deserve.

I find that people often think about abundance as this far off thing that they will be able to achieve one day but truly, abundance is everywhere right now. The universe is literally designed to deliver blessings and guide you towards your highest potential.

However, it is not uncommon to unknowingly stand in the way of your own abundance. You wouldn’t do this on purpose, of course, but you also may not realize that you can actually hinder the delivery of gifts from the universe by focusing on the things that you do not have rather than the incredible things you do. Once you open yourself to a new abundance is everywhere way of seeing and experiencing life, you will find that you are able to easily attract abundance at any time.

Daily Practices To Cultivate An Abundance Mindset

Commit to these seven simple practices to activate and attract abundance in your life right now:

Make A Daily Gratitude List | The law of attraction dictates that you will attract what you are. To begin attracting abundance, you must first tap into the energy of gratitude. A great way to shift into a grateful vibration is sit down every day and write at least five things you are grateful for and why.

Keep in mind that where your attention goes, your energy flows. If you want to attract more financial abundance, place your focus on expressing gratitude for the financial abundance that you already have. If you want to attract opportunities, focus on expressing gratitude for the opportunities that you already have, and so on. I also like to send my gratitude list to a few close friends, which helps keep me accountable and deepens my practice.

Set Clear Intentions | Once you have shifted into a state of attracting abundance through gratitude, it is important to set specific intentions for what you would like to call into your life. You can do this by writing down a list of things you would like to attract. You can also visualize these intentions by creating an image-based vision board. Get as clear as possible and be mindful of every little detail. The more specific the ask, the more specific the result.

Shift Your Frequency | Once you have clearly mapped out your intentions for abundance, you can bring these intentions into your subconscious mind by consciously entering into the theta brainwave state. My favorite way to do this is by attending a sound bath. In a sound bath, healing sound frequencies entrain with your brainwaves and bring you into states where you become very relaxed, and have access to your subconscious mind. Embedding your intentions into your subconscious mind will help you attract them at all times.

Practice Daily Affirmations | Abundance mantras are vehicles for gifts from the universe. Look in the mirror each morning and repeat affirmations such as: I am abundant; I am wealthy; opportunities surround me; or money flows to me effortlessly. These mantras can accelerate the attraction of abundance.

Be Generous | Another law of attraction is that you will receive what you put out. Money is quite simply a form of energy. If you are generous with your energy, you will receive an abundance of energy in return. Become conscious of how you share your money and your energy, and share it generously. Choose to support local businesses, tip your waiters well, reward your employees, and so on.

Also, be generous with yourself. Invest in self-care practices and personal development that will fill your proverbial cup. Even if you truly have no money to spare, you can still be generous with your energy. Begin to do everything with love and purpose, even menial tasks. If you infuse your actions with love, it will activate abundance. You can also share this energy by spreading love, smiles, support, and kindness to those around you. Share your positive energy in any way that you can and you will attract abundant positive energy in return.

Keep An Open Mind | Once you have set your intentions, try to release any expectations of how your abundance will appear. Trust the universe will grant you your wishes in a way that is true to your highest path. Create your intentions and allow space for grace, trusting that things will unfold as they are meant to. Abundance may appear at your door in many forms, it could be  a stranger buying you a coffee, an unexpectedly large tax return, or a new job opportunity. Be open to miracles of all sizes and make sure to tap into gratitude each time they appear.

Take Aligned Action | When your abundance presents itself, accept it. Abundance is available to you at any time. Accessing your abundance is simply a matter of taking aligned actions that allow you to receive it. Listen to your intuition and act when the time is right. When in doubt, trust that things are working out better than you can imagine.

Don’t worry if some of these practices feel a little awkward at first. I promise they work! Leap into attracting your abundance with faith and abandon, and you won’t be disappointed.
