7 Wedding Guest Trends I Can’t Wait to Try in 2021

September 02, 2020 at 08:00AM

In March, weddings were put on hold for several months. And while we can now attend nuptials for no more than 30 people, if you had an extensive array of RSVPs for 2020, then you’ll know that many couples postponed their big day until next year. This means that while you didn’t get to celebrate this year, you can start planning your wedding guest dress for the following. At Who What Wear, we lovedresses (you might have noticed), so it gives me great pleasure to look through all the biggest dress trends of this year and the coming season to pick out the more suitable pieces for a wedding. Keep scrolling for our guide to the best wedding guest dress trends for 2020 and beyond.

Style Notes: As seen on Ellie of Slip into Style, this is all about floral dresses that have something fun about them, whether it’s bold colours, big sleeves or oversize shoulders.

Style Notes: Take it from us: The minidress is back. Go for long sleeves or a high neck to keep it looking elegant.

Style Notes: Want a neckline that will always make you feel confident? Try the square neck.

Style Notes: Perhaps a more controversial choice, head-to-toe red is a huge trend for autumn/winter 2020. That said, if you’re worried it’ll look like you’re trying to upstage the bride, you can always check on the dress code.

Style Notes: Minimalists, if you’re looking for a dress you’ll get loads of wear from, then it’s the two-tone frock. From 16Arlington to Bottega Veneta, this is one of the chicest choices to go for.

Style Notes: Pleats are back, and they look incredible. While grey might look a bit corporate, if you pair it with red lipstick and gold sandals, you’ll find it’s transformed. Otherwise, opt for bold colours and prints, and you’re guaranteed compliments.

Style Notes: Animal print never goes out of style for a wedding, so I couldn’t not include it.
