There’s just something about this group’s seasoned style perspective that always hits the mark. That’s not to say that we don’t also follow a number of fashion people across age groups but there is a certain expertise that comes from years of fine-tuning your wardrobe and we’re simply here to celebrate that.

Seeing as winter is on our doorsteps and the cold-weather can often be the trickiest to dress for, we’ve tapped this group yet again for a much-needed dose of inspiration as we head into the next season. After surveying the feeds of our favorite 40-plus influencers like Grece Ghanem, Elaine Davis, and Tennille Murphy, we’ve concluded that the following seven winter-ready fashion items are universally-beloved by them. No surprise here that one of the year’s top boot trends is also a favourite among our over-40 friends. The chunky boot look is practical for the winter, yes, but it also happens to give off a cool street style-approved vibe that feels so right now.

There’s just something about collared sweaters that feel a little more special than your average basic top. Our fashion friends have taken to wearing them with jeans and boots, a winter combo that’s made to be worn over and over again.

Can we all agree that our house shoes are the ones getting the most wear right now? I’ve spotted a number of chic shearling and fur-lined slides and slippers that are taking the mundane shoe category to new levels. 

Knit dresses are definitely having more of a moment this year than they ever have and considering how comfortable and useful they are, it’s not hard to see why. Ribbed numbers, especially in versatile midi lengths, are proving to be the silhouette du jour.

I’m convinced that everyone should have this winter staple on lock in their wardrobes, and the stylish over-40 crowd seems to agree with me.
