I Just Created My 5 Dream Spring Outfits From NET-A-PORTER

February 26, 2021 at 06:00AM

One of my favourite pastimes on an average grey Monday (or Wednesday or Friday) afternoon has to be scrolling through NET-A-PORTER‘s new-in section and mentally compiling my dream outfits. Judge me if you will, but really it’s part of my job description to be on top of these things. Let’s just call it researchโ€”I do anyway. Plus, I have found that there’s nothing quite like a beautiful design to help one escape the mundanity and slipper-clad reality of lockdown life.

With temperatures offering us a snapshot of spring this week, my mind has wandered to light layers, throw-on jackets, and easy pairings that will, fingers-crossed, help me celebrate my return to the real world at the end of April. My colour spectrum for spring 2021 has an inkling of the beiges and browns that dominated the market in 2020, but this year, it also has that all-important shot of colour via rust oranges and powder blues. I suppose you could call it a ’70s palette (no surprise there). You’ve got Rejina Pyo’s dreamy smock dress, which will look so chic with sandals come summer, but until then, I would layer it over flared leggings. I will also be sticking to my beloved fringed jacket for 2021, and with the below Nili Lotan look, it’ll keep the classic T-shirt-and-jeans pairing in check until the warmer months arrive. And on those days when the British spring decides to throw us a 20-degree curveball? I’ll be reaching for that oh-so ’90s combo of a waistcoat, trousers, and sandals that I essentially plan on wearing all summer long. So if you want a sneak peek of the spring outfits playing on my mind right now, scroll down to see and shop my edit.
