In the digital age, outfit inspiration can come from all avenues: from street style and Instagram to archival Getty searches. But, sometimes you can’t beat the real deal, and by that we mean drawing ideas from those around us and the people we pass on the street. Luckily, working at an online fashion publication means there is no shortage of stylish individuals who inspire me (digitally anyway) on a daily basis. Not only that, but with teams based everywhere from LA to London, Who What Wear is able to harness that unique eclecticism that comes from a global fashion perspective.

While I can’t see my fellow editors IRL right now (sob), I’ll just have to appreciate their fabulous sense of style from afar, via Zoom calls and scrolling through their social media feeds. And really, it would be rude not to share all their sage style wisdom with you too. So, I asked editors from both the UK and US to send me the one outfit they’re repping for spring, and of course they delivered. In true reflection of the season’s variability, the outfits cover everything from summery dresses to knitted skirts, but as all Brits will know, you can never be too careful when it comes to those April forecasts.
After a long year of wearing jogging bottoms, puffer coats and slippers, the overwhelming sentiment that came from our editors was wanting to take the opportunity to celebrate the joy of fashion. “The best thing about spring in New York City is being able to take off a few layers without having to deal with the unbearable heat. And being able to get away with getting more usage out of leather trousers while wearing a cut-out blazer is a win in my books.”
“After winter I’m always desperate to get out of tights and leave the layers behind, so I usually opt for really covered-up dress styles (high necks, long sleeves, midi or ankle-grazing hemlines) with closed-toe shoes. In the pre-Covid era I would have worn proper heels for work, but now I’ll most likely rework the idea with flats or kittens. I’m still yet to find a suitable pair of flats though…”

“This is an outfit of someone who will cling onto her winter wardrobe for as long as humanly possible. But really, when you live in the UK, you have to be prepared for all weather eventualities in spring. This COS top is one of the few new things I’ve bought this year and I love the premium-feel pleated fabric and boatneck neckline. I’ve styled it with my favourite vintage knitted skirt and cowboy boots, but I might also add a patent trench if it’s feeling particularly chilly outside.”
“This spring, I’m all about playing with bright colours and different textures, so with this look I decided to go double on green with layering a silk dress and ribbed pants. At first I was nervous it would be strange, but I’m so happy with how it turned out.”

“I’m not really one for florals, so spring is a time when I invest in gingham and other abstract prints. My love of Stan Smith sneakers is well documented on this website (and the brand’s newest iteration is made with recycled materials) so I’ll often pair those alongside a printed dress or skirt and carry along a light jacket for when the sun inevitably creeps behind the clouds.”
“This new Who What Wear x Target dress is shaping up to be my new spring and summer go-to. There are so many ways to style it but my personal favorite is with a flashy pair of boots and gold jewellery.”
“After living in loungewear and sneakers over the last year, short hemlines and heels are all I want to wear—so that’s exactly what I’m doing this spring.”
“I love wearing bright and colourful floral dresses for spring. This one I’m wearing is vintage, but there are so many fun ones out there right now. For spring I like wearing them with boots like the Sam Edelman Nina Boots I have on here, but for summer I’ll trade them out for flat sandals.”
