I love a good bit of minimalism in the summer. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not adverse to bright colours, but there’s something so chic about wearing muted tones in the heat. This year, as I won’t be heading overseas or to anywhere that actually has hot weather (thanks, British summer), I want to pretend I’ll be on the beaches of Ibiza or the Cote D’Azure and the H&M latest summer collection is going to help me do just that. Full of floaty dresses and loose-fitting tops, I plan on wearing these items from now until September.

But I’m not a total lunatic so I’m also eyeing up the slub-knit tops and the chic tailored blazers because as Andre 3000 says “you can plan a pretty picnic, but you can’t predict the weather”.
