This High-Street Shirt Is Being Picked Up by People in the Know

There are various stylistic components that come into play to make an item of clothing look premium, and alongside dramatic silhouettes and heavyweight fabrics, I would have to say that unexpected prints are definitely a key factor. Just take Whistles’ short-sleeved shirt as an example: I spotted the piece within the brand’s ’new in’ section and was instantly drawn-in by the unusual map print, something I hadn’t seen anywhere else on the high street. It could have easily just stepped off the runway. 

My suspicions were confirmed when a handful of fashion-savvy women (Angela Scanlon included) posted pics of themselves wearing said shirt, and looking pretty stylish in the process. Made out of a silk-blend fabric and coming with a cool boxy fit, this is the sort of top that will instantly elevate your wardrobe basics, whether it’s black trousers or casual denim. I would tuck it into jeans and style with velcro sandals, or layer over a white tank top and shorts for a more laid-back look.
