11 Impressive Outfits You Can Re-Create for £100 or Less

I’m something of an affordable shopping expert, having cut my fashion editor teeth on a weekly magazine that had the sole purpose of showcasing the hottest pieces on the high street. And although my tastes and budget have evolved over time, still, nothing beats the buzz of finding something affordable and stylish and that you know is going to look so much more expensive when you wear it.

So, when my colleagues asked me to create an edit of trendy outfits under £100, I was more than up to the challenge. I scoured social media to unearth a selection of outfits I really love, and then I began tracking down the frugal pieces I needed to re-create them. I knew I could (and would) do the homages justice, but even I was impressed at just how many I was able to assemble without breaking a sweat. It’s a testament to how strong the high-street is this season. Below, you’ll find the fruits of my labour.

I’ve deliberately selected an array of looks that are sure to appease any type of dresser. From chic minimalist ensembles to the throwback pieces adopted by Gen Z, scroll on to see 11 trendy outfits under £100 to shop now.

Style Notes: It might be autumn, but dresses are still trending in a big way, and one of the coolest types out there is those with a mix of prints. Jessica’s Rixo dress is still in stock, but if you’re on a budget, this Warehouse number will help you achieve her look.

Style Notes: Perhaps the hero buy of 2021, Breton stripe knits have been best-sellers for every brand, from ASOS to Arket. Lately, there’s been a fresh drop of striped sweaters, which Grece has styled up with on-trend stirrup leggings and chunky loafers.

Style Notes: Bra tops and blazers are my new favourite outfit combination—handily, they’re also one of the easiest to re-create on a budget, too. I’ve had my eye on this Zara blazer for ages, and plan on wearing it just like Karoline.

Style Notes: If you were in any doubt, knee-high boots are officially back this year, and I’m seeing more out-there styles than ever before. Sasha’s cow-print pair might look niche, but I’ve found an excellent option from NastyGal that’ll allow you to re-create her bright dress and boot get-up for under £100.

Style Notes: If there’s one thing that’ll guarantee you look trendy this season, it’s the longline puffer coat. Wear yours with simple sock boots and hoop earrings like Basma for an easy outfit solution on cold days.

Style Notes: You heard it here first—combat trousers are going to be big news this winter. Get ahead of the style pack by wearing yours with other ‘90s staples; cue Jo-Ann’s tie-dye sweatshirt.

Style Notes: This one is for the minimalists amongst you—try wearing a light beige shade on your top and bottom half, then punctuate it with classic black accessories.

Style Notes: Everywhere you look, there’s knitted dresses. But I think the coolest knitted dresses are those with ombré/space-dye weaves. Follow Imani’s lead and pair yours with a nylon shoulder bag and kitsch add-ons for Y2K appeal.

Style Notes: Trench coats are a staple that belong in every autumn wardrobe. I’m obsessed with how Jen has styled hers with another of the season’s hottest buys—the tailored waistcoat. Proof that two ‘coats are always better than one.

Style Notes: A denim jacket, midi skirt, and trainers is a look you can throw on for just about any outing, be it the school run, a weekend brunch date, or low-key drinks after work. Who knew £100 could get you so much outfit potential?

Style Notes: Another look I can always rely on when I’m in a hurry is throwing on a pair of trainers with a midi dress. Bring the combination bang up-to-date and in-season with the addition of a leather-look jacket.
