Nicolas Cage just got married in Las Vegas, but who is his new wife? Meet Riko Shibata.
It’s just been revealed that actor Nicolas Cage got married for the fifth time last month in Las Vegas.
Photos from the event show Nicolas wearing a Tom Ford tux and his new beau sporting a handmade Japanese bridal gown at an intimate ceremony surrounded by foliage and fairy lights.

WHO IS RIKO SHIBATA?
Riko Shibata is a 26-year-old woman from Japan.
She’s been shot into the limelight after marrying actor Nicolas Cage, and it appears as though she wasn’t a celebrity before this.
However, her career and background is currently unknown.
To public knowledge, Riko is not on social media and keeps her life very private.

After meeting just before the Covid-19 pandemic, Nicolas and Riko’s relationship has certainly been unconventional.

The pair met in Shiga, Japan over a year ago, then they were first spotted on a date in February 2020 in New Orleans before being seen again in New York in March.
However, then the pandemic hit, and Nicolas revealed on his brother Marc Coppola’s podcast that he and Riko have spent most of the past year apart.
“She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her for 6 months,” he said in August.
On the same podcast, he also revealed that they got engaged over FaceTime.
“We’re really happy together and we’re really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said ‘Look, I wanna marry you’ and we got engaged on FaceTime,” he said before revealing that he got her a black diamond engagement ring.
“Her favorite color is black so she wanted the black gold, and the black diamond. I customised and personalised it and I actually sent it to her through FedEx.”

NICOLAS AND RIKO GOT MARRIED IN LAS VEGAS
Nicolas and Riko tied the knot on February 16th 2021 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.
As reported by PEOPLE, the date was chosen to honor the birthday of Nicolas Cage’s late father.
Riko wore a three-layered Japanese gown as she walked down the aisle to her favorite song, Winter Song by Kiroro, and photos show the pair passionately kissing surrounded by greenery.
“It’s true, and we are very happy,” Nicolas said in a statement to PEOPLE.

RIKO Shibata is the fifth wife of acclaimed actor Nicolas Cage.
Shibata and Cage were married in February of 2021.
Who is Riko Shibata?
Riko Shibata, who is 26, is the wife of movie star Nicolas Cage.

It is her first marriage.
They tied the knot at the Wynn Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas, according to the Daily Mail.
A state of Nevada marriage license obtained by the outlet shows that the couple got married on February 16 at the Vegas resort.
“The date was chosen to honor the birthday of the groom’s late father,” Cage’s rep told People.
“The bride wore a handmade Japanese Bridal Kimono from Kyoto that required three layers.”
The rep added: “After the wedding, the happy couple was joined for a small celebration attended by Nicolas’ ex-wife, Alice (who he remains very good friends with) and their son Kal,” his rep says.
Cage was married to Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016.
Shibata took her husband’s last name – and now is legally Riko Cage.
She is 30 years younger than Cage and is also younger than his oldest son, Weston.
They reportedly met in her home country of Japan.
What did Cage say about her?
Cage announced the engagement on his brother Marc Coppola’s radio show in 2020.
“She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her for six months,” he said.
“We’re really happy together and we’re really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said ‘Look, I wanna marry you’ and we got engaged on FaceTime.”
They were first spotted together in February of 2020 when he took her to New Orleans to visit the tomb he famously purchased for himself in 2010.

Nicolas Cage has been plunged into newlywed bliss after tying the knot with his girlfriend in a Las Vegas ceremony.
The Hollywood actor, 57, exchanged vows with Riko Shibata – who is 30 years his junior – in a traditional Catholic and Shinto ceremony as they recited poetry from Walt Whitman and Haiku.
The pair met in Shiga, Japan, more than a year ago where they fell head over heels for one another.
The Vegas ceremony in five-star resort Wynn marked the actor’s fifth time saying “I Do”.
Ceremonies at the Wynn Las Vegas wedding salons can cost up to $29,990 (£21,500).

Their wedding came less than two years since Cage asked for an annulment four days after getting married to his fourth wife Erika Koike on March 23, 2019.
The star married first wife Patricia Arquette in April 1995 but the couple divorced in May 2001.
