7 Ideas for How to Style a Duvet Coat This Winter

The humble puffer coat has come a long way since its original outdoor sports iterations. Thanks to Drake, Balenciaga‘s A/W 16 collection and our constant pursuit of comfort, we’re very much in the era of the fashionable puffer coat. And 2021 has seen this item of clothing gain even more popularity. As these jackets tend to cover us completely (especially if you have one of those head-to-toe versions), they can leave you feeling like it’s pointless to wear anything exciting underneath. But that’s actually not the case. I had a look at how some of my favourite Instagrammers have been wearing theirs and found some genuinely fun and exciting outfits that will make you love wearing your duvet coat on repeat.

There’s Alexis Foreman’s yellow quilted version, which she’s paired with an all-black outfit. Then, there’s Nnenna Echem’s Saks Potts cropped jacket that looks great over a boldly coloured dress—pair with black track-sole boots for the full winter look. I’m also quite taken with Emili Sindlev’s padded Prada coat, which is a very autumn/winter 2021 take on the puffer jacket with the belt around the middle. If this sounds like something you’re after right now, keep scrolling to see seven of the best puffer-jacket looks and how to wear yours.
