Allison Kirwan started her shop Wild World of AK in 2014, after graduating college without knowing exactly what she wanted to do. Luckily, she now creates for her popular clothing line full-time, which, she confirms, definitely beats her old retail jobs. Kiernan Shipka found the site and immediately became a fan – Kirwan told me the actress owns a full Tony Soprano mermaid sweat set, and she threw in the tee for free. Of course, that’s how we discovered Kirwan’s store – on Shipka’s Instagram!
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star posted a selfie on her account, writing, “@shopwildworldofak u are brilliant.” Once we clicked over to Kirwan’s site to discover four full pages of celebrity mermaid tees, we hopped right on Shipka’s bandwagon. Ahead, I chatted with the graphic artist about her craft and learned about her best selling designs. “I had actually slowed down on making new mermaid goods over the past year (the all-over print sweat suits have taken over as the best sellers) but I will definitely go back to making new mermaid designs,” she assured me. That’s very good to hear, because I’m about to buy these up for all of my friends, and $28 bucks says you are too.
