The One Jumper Style I Wear More Than Any Other in Winter

The One Jumper Style I Wear More Than Any Other in Winter

Whether it’s because of our communal craving for all things cosy or a continuation of last year’s cottagecore trend, the cable-knit jumper has fast become a wintry go-to in the wardrobes of fashion’s finest. Offering plenty of hand-spun, artisanal appeal, it’s a knitwear trend that I wear more than any other in the winter months, and it’s my favourite way to add texture to everything from classic denim to tailored trousers.

Designers such as Alexander McQueen and Ganni have brought their own elevated spin to the cable-knit jumper and have particularly embraced a more oversize, chunky silhouette this season. However, high-street brands have also jumped on the bandwagon, offering plenty of fresh iterations that cover cardis and roll-necks and everything in-between. It’s also worth noting that this is a trend that lends itself to buying vintage, and often, second-hand versions can look super high-end thanks to their traditional finishes.

Whatever your budget, there’ll be a cable-knitted jumper for you. At the top of my wish list is Arket’s vest, which will pair perfectly with a shirt and high-waisted jeans. I’ve also spotted a few expensive-looking styles from the menswear section at Marks and Spencer. (Why do men’s jumpers always look so much more premium than women’s?) I’ve also thrown in a few pre-loved pieces for you because I’m nice like that. Happy scrolling!
