No one makes fast fashion look expensive quite like Kate Middleton, but after looking into the contents of the outfit she wore at her and Prince William’s first public outing of 2022, it’s clear that she’s outdone herself this time. For an official visit to the Foundling Museum in London, Middleton did what she does best—i.e., rewearing her favourite wardrobe items from affordable brands like Zara and the UK-based label Jigsaw.
In addition to her sold-out blue coat from the latter brand, which she first wore in January 2020, Middleton grabbed a £20 black turtleneck jumper from Zara and a pair of matching Jigsaw trousers that just so happen to be majorly trendy right now. The high-waisted slacks are wide-leg and slightly long, allowing them to puddle around her pumps, which are from Emmy London. The style, often referred to as puddle trousers, has become a frequent street style sighting, popping up on Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber and Dua Lipa. But Middleton? I didn’t expect her to hop on the trend; though, I’m certainly not complaining.
Keep scrolling to shop Middleton’s still-available Zara turtleneck and dip your toe in the puddle-trouser trend.
