We’re willing to bet that, by now, you’ve had your fill of frozen pizzas. It was fun to start with, but now it’s time for some refined dining. You can now enjoy a Michelin-starred meal from the comfort of your sofa. London’s restaurants may be temporarily shuttered, but their kitchens are still firing. This is our rundown of the top-end eateries-turned-takeaways in your neighbourhood that can deliver delicious (and sometimes nutritious) food to your door.

ISLINGTON

Pophams Bakery

Pophams Bakery is delivering its fresh pasta, pasta sauces, homemade breads, pastries and cheese to local N1 customers within a one mile radius of its Islington bakery. Simply place your order by 5pm every Saturday for a delivery the following week.

Zia Lucia

Using 48-hour, slow-risen dough, baked in a handcrafted, wood-fired oven, Zia Lucia produces light, delicious pizzas. Check out the Arianna – fresh sausage, taleggio goat cheese, pecorino cheese, truffle honey and olive paté – or customise your own.

MARYLEBONE

Daylesford

Lady Carole Bamford’s chic London farm shops are restocked daily with organic eggs, fresh meat and vegetables, direct from the Bamford farm in the Cotswolds. There is a home delivery service available, but it is currently dealing with high demand (duh!). You can, however, order hot and cold dishes via Deliveroo, including full vegan breakfasts, fresh smoothies, warm salads and comforting spiced chicken tagine or lamb casserole.

Clipstone

Every week, Clipstone is designing a bespoke menu consisting of six mains and three desserts. Deliveries will contain three separate two-course meals and also includes a freshly baked loaf of Clipstone bread. Whether you save that for a morning date with the Nutella jar is up to you.

SOHO

Lina Stores

If you can’t get to Italy, and you can’t get out, this is the next best thing. Central London’s best pasta pit-stop has created cook-at-home kits with a contact-free delivery option. Lina Stores’ aubergine polpette and ravioli verde are melty mouthfuls of cheesy, truffley heaven – hop straight on the Deliveroo app and add antipasti, panini and dolci to your basket between midday and 3pm and 5pm-10pm daily. The restaurant is also providing free food to those in need in the area, so this is a store worth supporting.

Kricket

Kricket has closed all three of its incredible Indian restaurants, but the team are offering a bespoke delivery service via Deliveroo. Featuring some of their signature dishes such as their bhel puri and veggie samosas.

Bao

Keep an eye out for Bao’s new home delivery service arriving very soon. Track their progress via www.riceerror.com

TOWER BRIDGE

Lupins

Seasonal British tasting plates that aim to serve a little sunshine into your days of lockdown, are now available for delivery. There’s a fairly hefty minimum delivery price of £60, and you need to plan ahead because it’s next-day delivery, but when it arrives…. Oh, boy.

CITY

Officina 00

A seasonal menu of artisanal pastas. Their menu is built around regional Italian recipes created using innovative cooking techniques. This is proper restaurant cooking you can eat in your pyjamas.

CANARY WHARF

The Athenian

Using their painstakingly-crafted recipe, The Athenian shares their passion for traditional souvlaki: marinating their meats in Greek herbs, they are then grilled to tender perfection before being wrapped in a fluffy handmade pita. Get it delivered via Deliveroo.

BIRD

The fried chicken and waffle connoisseurs at BIRD, founded in Shoreditch in 2014, are still getting raving reviews for their in-house recipe. So get an in-house delivery and tuck in to fried chicken that’s a cut above anything the Colonel can deliver.
