You know you have a special job when a regular part of your work schedule includes making people feel good about themselves. And that is precisely why I love our Who What Wear street style expeditions. Each month, photographer Michaela Efford and I take to the streets of London in search of well-dressed individuals, and I can’t tell you the number of times people have told us we’ve made their day simply because we’ve complimented their outfits and asked them for a photo.

I Went Street Style–Spotting in East London, and These Outfits Wowed Me

Last month, in particular, there seemed to be a real feeling of camaraderie and sisterhood amongst the women we photographed along East London’s Broadway Market and Columbia Road. We spotted several pairs of friends happily spending their Friday afternoons together, many of whom were dressed unintentionally in coordinated or complementary outfits. There were sisters who’d just dyed their hair vibrant shades of lilac and green then thrown on looks in the same colour palettes and besties in matching layers of casual blue chambray. We spotted friends walking arm in arm in similar silhouettes of wide-leg trousers and two friends with flowers and bikes that looked like they belonged on the streets of Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Of course, no London street style gallery would be complete without a few trench-coat sightings, and this month, we spotted a sleek Burberry iteration that definitely deserves your attention. Without further ado, keep scrolling for the best looks we spotted on the streets of London this month.

Style Notes: Chic, chic, chic. I particularly loved the silhouettes of both Sarah’s and Isabele’s trousers. The printed pink Zara pair is a definite winner for me.

Style Notes: Georgia’s navy dress is an easy-to-wear essential that would be at home in any wardrobe. Though, pairing the minimalistic staple with a statement bag and Converse high-tops was the perfect way to elevate the look.

Style Notes: The bag, the jacket, the jewellery! Helena’s look has fun written all over it.

Style Notes: I’m always a fan of an all-in-one outfit, and this jumpsuit looked just perfect on Jeni! She was also wearing a great array of bracelets and necklaces, many of which were keepsake items passed down from her grandmother.

Style Notes: As if the Burberry trench coat weren’t enough to capture our attention, Claire paired the statement item with a LoveShackFancy dress and knee-high Prada boots to create what can only be described as a dream look.

Style Notes: How cute is this pineapple printed shirt? Nadia’s look is really savouring the last moments of the warm(ish) weather. Not to mention the sunnies are very fabulous.

Style Notes: Spotting these sisters was definitely one of the highlights of the day. Ellie and Becky had just dyed their hair and chosen the sweetest outfits to match. How’s that for outfit coordination?

Style Notes: Anna’s Nobody’s Child dress is an instant classic, and I love the way she’s decided to mix materials with this cow-print bag from Paloma Wool.

Style Notes: Simple and chic, Catherine’s casual outfit consists of a denim dress from White Stuff and comfy ASOS flats.

Style Notes: Remi has style in spades, as evidenced by the way she has expertly paired this Weekday dress with an oversized blazer and chunky boots.

Style Notes: Personifying the message on her Ganni T-shirt, Soccora was all smiles while having her photo taken. She paired her statement tee with a very on-trend detachable collar.

Style Notes: Jean brought L.A. minimalism to the streets of London with this look, pairing white jeans with a cream coat and roll-neck top.

Style Notes: We spotted friends Meg and Anj walking arm in arm down Columbia Road. I thought it was so cute to see the way the pair had unintentionally coordinated their looks with matching chambray items.

Style Notes: Walking her bike down Broadway Market, Maria looked like she belonged in the street style images of Copenhagen Fashion Week. Here, she wears a red Zara skirt with Reebok sneakers for a practical riding look.

Style Notes: The minute I saw Ailsa, I knew she was wearing a dress by on-the-rise label Signe London. The brand creates instantly recognisable towelling dresses, which have already proven quite popular amongst the influencer set.

Style Notes: We spotted Bex while she was out for lunch on Broadway Market. Her ever-so-chic Issey Miyake trousers were hiding her very cute socks, which were adorably branded with the message “love often.”

Style Notes: Ella’s minimalist outfit looked right at home on Columbia Road. She paired a navy dress by Olive Clothing with a white shirt and many a silver accessory.

Style Notes: Nathalie’s brightly coloured vintage dress was a standout on Broadway Market. The look felt perfect for a daytime stroll thanks to the addition of Converse sneakers.
