I’m a Stylist— Here’s 7 Spring Trends I’m Turning to H&M For This Season

If you’re an avid Who What Wear UK reader you’ll know how much we rate H&M for expensive-looking, affordable fashion. As editors, of course we try to encourage shopping from diverse sources— some vintage, some independent and some investment designer pieces as well as high street— to create a truly versatile collection that lasts. But we all turn to H&M to bolster our wardrobes with trend-led pieces and elevated staples each season as well. As a stylist too, it’s also the high street brand I find myself recommending to clients most often when they’re looking for a polished look on a budget.

I’m a Stylist— Here’s 7 Spring Trends I’m Turning to H&M For This Season

So, as spring gets under way (hopefully for real this time), I spent hours doing a deep dive of the brand’s new-in section to see exactly which trends and winning pieces H&M are doing best this season. I came back with seven in particular that really impressed me— whether that was because of the depth of options, the size diversity, the premium quality or the great value. From spring-perfect floral pieces to easy, everyday dresses and slick suiting— keep scrolling and you’ll find the trends I’ll be turning to H&M for first on the high street this season.

I’m a big fan of suits and how polished they can make you look with ease, so I’ve kept a keen eye on all the high street’s new collections for the perfect styles this season. Hands down, H&M has the best offering with bright wedding-guest ready options as well as neutral everyday iterations— and the best part is you can also wear them as separates to get the most out of new purchases.

The slick tie-belt detail makes this look so expensive. Here’s the matching trousers too.

I plan on wearing this to all the weddings in my diary this summer. Find the matching trousers here.

Sorry, but HOW chic is this waistcoat suit look? Here are the co-ordinating trousers.

This slouchy blazer and trousers look is not only extremely expensive-looking, it’s a classic that will last you for years to come.

Throw-on dresses are a spring saviour, and it’s something H&M does really well every year. The latest spring drop hasn’t disappointed and there’s so many options to dress up or down.

I love that this could be an office or an occasinowear dress.

So simple yet so chic for weekend wanderings or beach days on holiday.

Just add cute sandals.

This is a timeless piece that will flatter so many body shapes at any age *adds to basket*.

It might not be quite time for head-to-toe linen yet, but adding in one or two elements to a layered outfit now can make your outfits feel really fresh. Plus, these pieces are so good they’ll likely all be sold out by the time the next heatwave hits.

These are new in and guaranteed to sell out quickly— like all H&M wide-leg trousers.

This linen short suit is so chic. It could work with flat sandals or heels alike.

A wardrobe hero you’ll lean on until October.

The perfect loose linen shirt does exist.

One of my top tips for shopping H&M (and all high street) is to opt for minimalist staples in neutral tones that won’t age so quickly. Luckily it’s one of H&M’s strongest suits and whether you’re looking for an understated dress or the perfect wide-leg trouser,  you’ll likely find them in this new spring collection.

These have previously sold out and just came back in stock in black and cream. Run, don’t walk.

This dress looks so comfy. Throw a blazer over it with a boot for work right now and add a flip-flop and basket bag for your next holiday.

If you told me this jacket was designer I’d believe you.

Hello perfect LBD, I love you.

SS22 sees the return of denim in all its forms. There’s jackets, shirts, midi skirts and dresses, as well as plenty of new jeans shapes to get you out of your straight-leg rut. Keep scrolling to see what H&M has to offer…

Denim jackets are mostly oversized and interesting this season— like this one which is perfect for layering.

I love these as a new but still easy style of jeans to wear.

This looks so good with a simple pair of mules for the office.

Something about the cut of this jacket and the slouchy size feels really luxurious.

Florals for spring aren’t groundbreaking— we know that. But the way H&M has incorporated some dainty prints into its most loved designs keep them feeling fresh and versatile for the new year ahead.

This is such a flattering shape on so many body types and it can work dressed up or down.

Such an easy throw-on dress for heat wave season. I’d wear this with one of the denim jackets above.

While midriff-baring co-ords aren’t for everyone, this on-trend maxi skirt would work just as well with a white vest or T-shirt as well.

Printed co-ords are, like suits, one of those easy wardrobe hacks for making your outfits look instantly put-together. This shirt would look equally good tucked into jeans though.

The simplest way to elevate all your current outfits and bring them into spring? Add a fun new accessory. Whether that’s a cute sandal or basket bag, H&M has so many affordable options that really impressed me this season, but here’s a few of my favourites.

I love these styled with the camel suit above.

A chunky sandal is now a spring/summer essential.

These give the illusion of wearing a polished heel but without the uncomfortable height.
