You’ve probably heard us banging on about Arket’s perfect Hopsack Blazer before. That’s because every editor on the Who What Wear team is quite frankly obsessed, and we’re not afraid to shout about it. It’s not just us who have fallen for the clean lines and boxy shape of this expensive-looking jacket either— a whole host of fashionable faces have been spotted in this particular style over the last couple of years that it’s been around. That’s because, with its crisp yet oversized cut that could so easily pass for designer, it is hands down the best blazer on the high street— in fact, it’s one of the best blazers I’ve tried, full stop. And trust me, I’ve tried a lot.

The blazer as a wardrobe staple has well and truly passed ‘trend’ status and become a fully fledged capsule hero piece. I now have upwards of 8 in my collection (how many is too many?), and I’d go so far as to say they are the most hard-working items in my closet. So much so that I can’t remember what I wore before Blazers were a thing? Answers on a postcard, please.

This specific Arket style comes in four colours right now— beige, green, black and camel— but there’s also a navy double-breasted iteration and a less oversized version in red and brown too. I actually own both the camel and the black, because I’m a big believer in investing when you find an item you love and wear time and time again. I probably wear mine most often with jeans and a white T-shirt, switching in heels or boots depending on the event. But to showcase just how versatile this blazer is, and provide some (hopefully helpful) outfit inspiration for this awkward transitional time of the year, below I’ve styled it up 5 different simple but effective ways.

I recently saw Kendall Jenner wear a similar look and was totally inspired to copy her minimalist approach to blazer dressing. A special mention goes to these jeans, too, which are my new favourite.

Blazers can work for weekends too, as this cosy, relaxed loungewear look proves.

Throwing a black blazer over a midi dress is a timeless trick for evening dressing. Add a belt and for an instant modern update.

There’s a reason blazer and legging outfits are so popular— the smartness of the jacket balances out the relaxed leggings for a comfy but chic go-to look.

Switching out a white T-shirt with a bright alternative can freshen up a whole look. Add in wide-leg leather trousers and you’ve got a polished outfit which could work for anything from the office to dinner and drinks.
