Sweatshirts, pajama dressing, and wedding dresses adorned with cheerful floral arrangements – it’s like designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy fashioned our spring ’21 moodboard into their new dreamy, real-life Rodarte collection. While the industry favorites won’t be showing at New York Fashion Week, the images of their new spring/summer ’21 lineup offer a glimpse of the future, and it’s bright, hopeful, and, yes, practical, too.
Among the highlights, you’ll find floral-print and solid track-inspired sweatshirts and pants that we’d happily lounge around in right now at home – and style with heels (as the images suggest) later on. And while Kate and Laura’s ready-to-wear also includes a luxe take on pajamas, they’ve included tailored separates and dresses, all with a ’40s-inspired tilt, for those days when we’re all getting dressed again (because they will come!). Of course the looks that will stay with us, signs of promise for the spring ’21 we don’t yet know, are the couple of pretty gowns, tulle and rosette-adorned, that would make a perfect bridal look for anyone with big plans – or a healthy appetite for glamour – on the horizon.
