Logo T-shirts haven’t always had the best rep amongst the fashion community, and design-wise, there tends to be a fine line between “chic” and “novelty.” Over the years, the odd cult buy has cropped up—think Gucci’s logo tee—but they quickly fizzled out once they hit the mainstream. But this season, a new breed of slogan tees has come to the fore, and it’s perfectly exemplified by the buzzy popularity of Jil Sander’s clean-lined logo tee.

With an oversized, boxy fit and a no-frills logo emblazoned across the front, it’s no surprise that fashion lovers have flocked to snap up this covetable basic that offers insider kudos (as brand names go, it’s less shouty than Gucci or Dior) and versatile appeal. It’s the sort of piece that would look just as good with sharp tailored trousers and heels as it would with jeans and a denim jacket. Best of all? It comes in at £280, which is, of course, not exactly cheap for a T-shirt but is certainly a less expensive way to get in on the Jil Sander action.
