The It shoes that have been gracing the feet of fashion insiders over the last 2 years or so can be summarised as thus: Flats and flatforms. Whether its Prada’s loafers, Bottega’s chunky Chelseas or even the return of the UGG, comfort and casual appeal has been the name of the game—which is unsurprising considering how much time we’ve spent on our sofas throughout 2020 and 2021. Perhaps, this is why this season the fashion crowd have embraced a heel so extreme that even devoted stiletto-lovers may quail at its epic proportions.
Coming in a high-shine patent fabric and rainbow of hues, Valentino’s Tan-Go platform has well and truly captured the hearts of the fashion crowd, and within the space of a fortnight, we’ve spotted them on the likes of Emili Sindlev, Camille Charriere and Ellie Delphine. Styled with everything from jeans and maxi dresses to micro shorts, I’m not sure you can exactly describe them as ‘versatile’, but they certainly seem to be catering to a wide range of outfits and personal tastes. As always, where trend-setters go, shoppers follow, and the shoe has almost sold out on Net-a-Porter and Valentino’s own e-commerce site.
