Whether you want to credit it to TikTok or something else entirely, there is no denying that tie-dye is all over social media right now. While once considered a craft project, reserved for nineties art classes or at-home hobbyists, the trend has well and truly infiltrated the fashion industry in recent years, with designer labels—including Dior and Versace among them—creating their own kaleidoscopic iterations.

From T-shirts and tracksuits to dresses and socks, colourful dye is being splashed across any and every item of clothing these days, creating a plethora of rainbow-hued options for tie-dye enthusiasts. The trend has taken off particularly across loungewear in recent months (for obvious reasons) as influencers, It girls and celebrities, are turning to happy hues when getting dressed at home.
If the vibrancy of the trend feels somewhat overwhelming at first, I’d suggest starting small (like a tie-dye T-shirt or tank top) before completely investing in a full tie-dye look.
