5 Prints That Are Making Me Smile This Summer

5 Prints That Are Making Me Smile This Summer

Every spring I tell myself this will be the year I stick to a capsule of minimal basics, but then I see one printed midi dress and I’m over my dream of a beige and white summer wardrobe. This year in particular I’ve been gravitating towards statement prints thanks to their mood-boosting qualities—a rainbow midi dress may do nothing in the grand scheme of things, but nonetheless I do find colour and prints can have an impact on my daily outlook.

There are five prints in particular this summer that are making me smile, with several coming from the capital of uplifting clothing—Copenhagen. This city’s fashion scene might be relatively small, but it is largely responsible for the look-at-me midi dresses and throw-it-all-together aesthetic that now dominates our Instagram feeds. Brands like Ganni have showed us that wearing prints and colour can be surprisingly easy, so long as you opt for simple silhouettes that have a throw-on appeal to them. Case in point: the brand’s seersucker midi dress in a sherbert-hued check that has been tempting me all summer.

Keep scrolling for 5 prints that I’m certain will put a smile on your face.

Ganni has a habit of creating the jolliest prints around, and this summer I love every item in its rainbow-hued check.

Tie-dye prints have been trending for several summers, and this acid green iteration by Faithfull the Brand ensures this print isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Lisou’s founder Rene Macdonald sketches all of the label’s prints, and this heart motif might be my favourite of all the fabrics on this list.

Doen’s ditsy floral prints are a firm favourite with the Instagram crowd, and the below vintage-style floral is the latest iteration from the cult brand.

I keep spotting this strawberry print on my Instagram travels, and it’s by Copenhagen-based label Helmstedt—founder Emilie hand paints all of the prints herself, using vibrant colours.
