Beach Outfit Ideas You’ll Want To Copy, Whether You’re In Croatia Or Cornwall

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably itching to get to a beach right now. We’ve suffered through a long, stagnant, (socially-distanced) spring and now is the time for the weather to warm up so we can all take a much-deserved dip in the ocean. Or at the very least, a scenic beach pic to post on our Instagrams.

Whether you’re able to get to the Mediterranean for some guaranteed good weather, or are opting for a beach trip a little closer to home, seawater is sure to do you some good. So, what to wear on a trip to the seaside? Social media is, as expected, brimming with ideas.

From cover-ups that can double as dresses to oversized shirts and fluid shorts, there are so many fun ways to dress up your swimwear this season. Why not take a leaf out of Jeanette Madsen’s book and wear your bathing suit with a pair of stripe trousers? Or take Aysha Sow as your inspiration and wear an all-white ensemble complete with bucket hat, while strolling on the sand?

As usual, the opportunities are endless, but below are six outfits ideas I’d like to copy while at the beach this summer.

Style Notes: From the bucket hat to the trousers, this tonal look is the ultimate beach stroll ensemble, complete with comfy footwear and a beige-toned backpack.

Style Notes: We’ve seen quite a few shirt and short sets already this summer, but Amaka’s over-sized shirt and drawstring shorts might just take the cake as our favourite.

Style Notes: Jeanette Madsen always looks enviably stylish, and this relaxed beach look is no different. We love the way she’s paired her stripe jeans with a bikini top and sun-smart accessory.

Style Notes: A beach look of an entirely different kind. We’re not sure whether Karo Dall was planning on swimming but her maxi dress and matching flip-flops, are a great look for a seaside stroll.

Style Notes: An over-size shirt is my favourite kind of cover-up. Perfect on its own if you’re by the beach or pool, then simply add denim shorts for a more put-together look.

Style Notes: An intricate, woven or embroidered beach dress is a great cover-up option. Here, Bettina Looney pairs it with a one-piece swimsuit and heeled mules.
