Here at Who What Wear we believe that you can achieve great style at every budget. Everyone will have differing criterions and constraints when it comes to shopping, and naturally these will also vary over your lifetime. I’ve always been very picky about what I spend my money on, and despite working in the fashion industry, I’m reluctant to spend over the odds on something unless I’m really sure I’m going to get a good return on investment.
When I have taken the plunge, however, it has been fascinating to see which purchases pay off. Interestingly it has been dresses that have been some of the biggest stand-outs, with favourites including a Ganni checked maxi and a Topshop Boutique silken midi that I bought for my brother’s wedding (yes, technically high street, but it was on the pricier end). This sentiment is echoed by the rest of the team, with many contemporary luxury brands making appearances in our wardrobe top 10s: Think the likes of Stine Goya, Rixo, Ghost, Staud. The great thing about these pieces is that they offer something a little more special that your average bargain buy (many of which can sometimes end up looking identikit), but they don’t have that eye-popping four-figure price tag that can be attached to the big name brands. Of course, we understand that not everyone will want to, or will be able to, spend up to £300 on a frock, but maybe it’s considering for a very special occasion or getting your friends to club together for a big birthday.
