It’s not often that a single item stops us in our tracks, let alone a cardigan from the high street. Well, this week one brand has only gone and done it, and it doesn’t take many guesses as to which brand nailed it: & Other Stories, of course. Coming in a subtle shade of grey-brown and finished with an unusual asymmetrical, button-up design, it might not be the most look-at-me style in the world, but perhaps therein lies its luxury appeal.

Drawing influence from the many other designer brands who have embraced the less-is-more design dictum this season, & Other Stories has well and truly spoken to our lockdown cravings for comfy, elevated basics. It’s the sort of piece that you can add to your trusty joggers and shearling slippers but also dress up with tailored trousers, chunky gold jewellery and heeled boots. It was first released back in January and sold out almost immediately, but is now back and currently available in all sizes.

Scroll down to see proof of this hero knit and shop our other favourite & Other Stories cardigans. Trust us when we say that there are plenty to choose from.

Just add to denim and chunky boots.

Contrast this mint green with pale blue.

I love the sculptural silhouette of this cardigan.

Layer under a cocoon coat and let the collar sit over the top.

This would look so nice by itself with layered necklaces.

Ugh, too chic for words.

Khaki is a great alternative to beige and black.

Baggy, cosy and oh-so-cool.

Yes, we want this cardi in all colours, please.

So into the knitted-shirt vibes of this look.

This baggy style would look cute with leggings.

A classic if we ever saw one.

Statement collars are here to stay.
