I’m a Vintage Expert, and These Are the 9 Online Stores I Always Return To

As any loyal Who What Wear readers will know, we are, and have always been, pretty serious when it comes to vintage fashion and have long believed that it should be an integrated part of the average wardrobe. The second-hand movement has certainly gained momentum over the last few years, yet we believe it is so much more than a passing fad, and regardless of the fluctuations of public perception, we remain dedicated to the pre-loved cause.

Of course, we could not be happier that vintage fashion is finally getting the attention it deserves, and it feels as though every week, we see the launch of another online seller. Understandably, the sheer choice on offer can be overwhelming for second-hand newbies, so I have been scrolling through my Instagram feed to pinpoint nine stores that I return to again and again.

The amazing thing about vintage is that it is so multifaceted, and the proliferation of new platforms means that there will be an edit out there to cater to your needs. From Finds by Foxes‘ fabulously size-diverse collections and Darling + Vintage’s unique showstoppers to Selena’s Shop’s ’70s appeal and One Scoop Store’s contemporary offering, trust me when I say there’ll be something for everyone. Scroll down to see and shop my definitive online-vintage-store edit.

For timeless wardrobe staples with an elevated spin, head over to Retold Vintage. One of my most-treasured vintage buys (a bottle-green leather trench) was from the store, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

I had been following Sara for years before I realised that she ran her own vintage store. Packed full of eclectic buys that reflect her own impeccable personal style, this is a must-see for those on a budget.

Set up as a marketplace with more than 2000 vintage shops registered, Imparfaite Paris is one of the vintage platforms that is most loved by fashion editors. With new pieces hitting the site daily, this is a treasure trove for Gallic style.

The world of vintage isn’t always known for being the most accessible size-wise, but Katty from Finds by Foxes is changing that. Her perfectly edited vintage drops feature everything from floral dresses to denim co-ords and come in a range of sizes.

Selena’s Shop is a Second-Hand Shopper alumnus, chosen for her very chic ’70s vintage edits that can’t help but put a smile on your face. Scroll down to see the pieces I’m adding to my wish list right now.

If all of the ruffles and paisley prints of traditional vintage feel a little intimidating, then head over to One Scoop Store, the platform that specialises in contemporary second-hand. From high-street to cult designers, the best bits are often posted on Instagram, but they don’t stick around for long.

If there were a prize for the most beautiful imagery from a vintage store, it would have to be Darling + Vintage’s. Cassie, the brains (and face) behind the brand, is particularly good at picking showstoppers that deserve the red carpet treatment.

A designer bag is a big investment, but nabbing one second-hand is the ultimate fashion kudos. The Hosta has an enviable edit of big-name brands, from Celine to Chanel, which have all been professionally authenticated before being listed on-site.

And finally, one for you vintage-furniture lovers out there. I had to include K+G Curated Space, a lesser-known Etsy shop that I’ve bought some amazing pieces from. Its imagery alone is enough to have me reaching for the “add to basket” button.
