Greige isn’t the prettiest of portmanteaus, but it’s the colour I’m most excited about this summer. Not quite beige and not quite grey, this is a hue that meets somewhere in the middle. No, it doesn’t sound that desirable, so I’ll see if I can convince you. Imagine, if you will, that this is the sort of colour Olivia Pope would wear. It denotes polish and being a grown-up and not spilling red wine down yourself. It implies that you have your act together; you always remain calm even when you’re stressed out. It is the opposite of Mercury in retrograde. Yes, I did get all of that from a colour.
Right now, we need soothing, chill hues for our wardrobes, so I’m backing greige. I’ve already spotted quite a few people on Instagram wearing it (because, of course), and brands such as Frankie Shop have already got chic greige-coloured suits ready to buy now. Thankfully, for those of us tightening the purse strings, there are also high-street options. Keep scrolling to see my edit of the chicest greige pieces. I’ve got it handled.
